Stephen Timm
President
Stephen Timm is the president of Collins Aerospace, which was created in 2018 by bringing together UTC Aerospace Systems and Rockwell Collins. Collins Aerospace is a global leader in aviation and defense markets, with $18.4 billion in net sales and more than 80,000 employees around the world.
Steve brings nearly 27 years of experience to this role, previously leading our Avionics Strategic Business Unit. In that role, he was responsible for advancing aviation electronics and information management solutions in the flight deck and cabin for commercial and military customers around the world.
He also served as vice president of the Commercial Avionics portfolio within the Avionics business, building avionics positions for both Airbus and Boeing next-generation aircraft, introducing differentiating solutions to the market, and capitalizing on our enterprise information management capabilities.
Building on a reputation of strong customer focus, effective communications and enterprise collaboration, Steve led many important initiatives over the course of his career at Rockwell Collins. He managed the company’s U.S.-based Service Centers; spearheaded the Commercial Information Management strategy and business, pioneering new ways to leverage information to create value for our customers; and defined and deployed the initial application of the Life Cycle Value Stream business framework – which continues to guide how Collins Aerospace serves customers today.
Born in England and raised in northern Iowa, Steve earned his Bachelor of Arts in management information systems and business from Wartburg College and an MBA from the University of Iowa.
