The ISTAR aircraft helps crews:
- Track mobile ground targets
- Map natural disaster areas
- Monitor vessels to enforce maritime embargos
- Monitor activities near borders and littoral areas
Collins Aerospace is the first company to deploy an international ISTAR-type aircraft through the United Kingdom’s Sentinel program. The Sentinel aircraft and ground stations operated by the Royal Air Forces 5th and 54th squadrons have been in use since 2007.
