Collins Aerospace is stepping up in the battle against COVID-19. Whether it's using engineering expertise to help produce personal protective equipment (PPE), donating products to local hospitals, volunteering in communities (while abiding by social distancing guidelines) or providing much-needed financial support to nonprofits, the company and its employees are finding ways to make an impact.

Manufacturing face shields to protect those on the front line

On Monday, at a White House press conference, Greg Hayes announced that UTC and its businesses will produce 10,000 face shields over the next four weeks to provide to doctors and nurses. Collins Aerospace teams, particularly in additive manufacturing, will play a vital role in this effort.

Donating and volunteering across the globe

UTC and Collins Aerospace worked with the U.S. Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to donate 19,000 masks, 75,000 pairs of gloves, and 3,000 medical grade Tyvek suits to medical relief efforts.

Collins Aerospace sites around the world are working to secure PPE to donate to hospitals and health facilities.

The company’s Burnsville, Minnesota, team made a monetary donation to a local high school STEM project for rapid fabrication of medical PPE that the school will, in turn, donate.
Collins Aerospace employees in Bengaluru, India, are hosting a donation drive to collect funds for the United Way of Bengaluru.

In Cedar Rapids, Iowa, employees are helping out by sewing facemasks to donate to local medical providers and hosting a virtual diaper drive to provide to families in need.
